The fourth-party logistics (4PL) based on resource sharing pattern is inevitable\ntrend, so the implementation of Cainiao Logistics Plan has aroused the\ndiscussion of whether the development of 4PL will make resource sharing\npattern popular in logistics industry. The purpose of this study is to investigate\nthe profit model of 4PL represented by the Cainiao. So what kind of role\ndoes Cainiao play? Is the profit model sustainable? The research is based on\nsingle case study of Cainiao Logistics, which can be considered as a best practice\nwhen it comes to 4PL competition. The results identify the main aspects\nthat explain why Cainiao will be efficient. It found that Cainiao not only\ncreated new ecosystem of E-commerce, but integrated most resources available\nin the supply chain....
This articleâ??s purpose is to establish a diagnosis of hospital pharmacy drugs supply chain, by proposing an optimization approach of the procurement process of drugs and medical devices in order to cut the organizational costs, to increase the global efficiency and to assure the best medical support to the patient. The principal contribution of this work consists in the proposed approach to reorganize the reception, acquisition, storage and distribution processes; a complex demarche that requires a process based approach to model the pharmaceutical supply chain and to decide the circuit organization in order to guarantee the drugâ??s availability and accessibility. This demarche consists of defining, sequencing and mapping the processes in order to identity the system behavior and to determine the critical points by deploying the business project management method....
Thispaper focusesonthe game evolution process and its influencing factors of financial risk cooperation behavior between suppliers\nandmanufacturers in global supply chain system.Using two-population evolutionary game theory, the performance of supply chain\nmembers under financial risk environment is modeled. Further, the proposed financial risk game model is applied to simulation\ncases of global supply chain. Based on the theory analysis and simulation results, it is shown that the cooperation strategy is the\noptimal evolutionarily stable strategy (ESS) for all supply chain members, when facing the high financial risk. The financial risksharing\ncoefficient can be regarded as an adjuster that affects risk ESS of both suppliers and manufacturers under the low financial\nrisk setting. By reducing the financial risk-sharing ratio of one supply chain player, his intention of adopting cooperation strategy\nwould be enhanced. Finally, it is observed that financial risk sharing approach may lead to the alignment among supply chain\nmembers. Therefore, setting up an effective financial risk-sharing mechanism is beneficial to realize sustainable development of\nglobal supply chain....
For random distributors under supply disruptions caused by emergency incidents, a fuzzy emergency model and a robust\nemergency strategy of the supply chain system are studied. First, for a kind of supply chain system composed of a strategic\nmanufacturer, a backup manufacturer, and multiple distributors, the basic emergency models, including the inventory models and\na total cost model, are constructed under random supply disruptions. Then, based on the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy system, the basic\nemergencymodels of the supply chain systemare converted into a discrete switchingmodel, which can realize soft switching among\nthe basic emergency models. Furthermore, according to the different inventory levels, the strategic manufacturerâ??s production\nstrategies and the distributorsâ?? ordering strategies are designed to reduce the inventory costs of the node enterprises in supply\nchain system. Second, by defining a discrete piecewise Lyapunov function in each maximal overlapped-rules group, a new fuzzy\nrobust emergency strategy for the supply chain system is proposed through the principle of parallel distributed compensation. This\nemergency strategy can not only restore the impaired supply chain to the normal operation state but also keep the total cost of the\nsupply chain at a low level and guarantee the robust stability of the emergency supply chain system. Finally, the simulation results\nillustrate the effectiveness of the proposed fuzzy robust emergency strategy of the supply chain system....
This paper studies supply chain decisions making between the retailer, supplier, and bank based on warehouse receipt pledge and\nrisk consideration under twice ordering mode. The decentralized supply chain and centralized supply chain are divided by whether\nthe supplier provides repurchase guarantees and whether the retailer offers revenue sharing. We develop a Stackelberg gamemodel\nto analyze the influential mechanism among various actors and use the method of downside risk control to discuss the bankâ??s\nexpected loss and the optimal loan pledge ratio. We carry out a simulation analysis, and the result is shown as follows: (i) either\nfor decentralized or centralized supply chain, the retailerâ??s optimal order quantity and the optimal proportion that the number of\ngoods pledged by the retailerâ??s twice ordering accounts for the number of first-ordering goods are all unique; (ii) the bankâ??s loan\npledge ratio is a monotonically increasing function of disposal value of the unit remaining commodity; (iii) for centralized supply\nchain, the bankâ??s loan pledge ratio is themonotonically increasing function of repurchase ratio and wholesale price provided by the\nsupplier, respectively; (iv) in the decentralized supply chain, the supplierâ??s return mainly comes from the wholesale revenue and is\npositively related to the wholesale volume and wholesale price; in the centralized supply chain, the supplierâ??s return is mainly from\nthe retailerâ??s revenue sharing....
